Your trusted supplier of sustainablelaminate flooring
Choose Woodland Lifestyle for the best choices in sustainable flooring.
We aim to bring you flooring that is not only beautiful but also kind to the environment. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and heavily research our suppliers to ensure we can pass on the benefits of sustainable timber, laminate and hybrid floorcoverings to our customers.
To illustrate the depth of this commitment, reputable suppliers such as Metroflor have made serious commitments to reducing their carbon footprint throughout every part of their business. Not only is their workplace a LEED-certified building and one of the most energy-efficient buildings in the US, but they have also committed to carbon neutral shipping through UPS.
Metroflor’s participation in UPS carbon neutral program helps fund global environmental projects that are reducing carbon emissions.
Better for your health, better for the environment
Choosing a sustainable laminate floor covering is the responsible choice for your home, your family, and the environment.
Sustainable timber flooring means that the timber is harvested from well-managed sources, giving you peace of mind that your flooring is not directly contributing to destructive environmental practices such as logging in old-growth forests.
In addition, choosing a flooring supplier with strong environmental credentials means your flooring is less likely to contain harsh chemicals, toxic substances or VOCs – organic compounds that can lower indoor air quality.
Environmentally conscious suppliers of sustainable laminate flooring
At Woodland Lifestyle, we vet all our suppliers to ensure that our flooring products are well designed, sustainably manufactured and made from ethically sourced materials.
The flooring products that we supply are sourced from a range of suppliers around the world. Our bamboo flooring, for example, originates from well-managed bamboo forests in China. It does not contribute to food or habitat destruction for pandas, as it is only one specific species of bamboo that is harvested, and this species doesn’t form part of a panda’s diet.
Similarly, laminate flooring is made from byproducts of the commercial wood industry, typically fast-growing renewable species such as pine. Using a waste forestry product to create beautiful flooring products also helps to reduce waste and energy use.

Sustainability credentials and what they mean
Ecolabel
A product that adheres to the most stringent EU rules for indoor air quality, raw materials quality and sourcing.
Declare and Just labels
A Declare label is a little like a nutrition label in that it provides a list of ingredients used to make the product. This helps with transparency and helps to simplify product specifications where specific ingredients, materials or substances need to be avoided. Likewise, a Just label provides similar transparent information around social justice, supply chain and stewardship initiatives.
PEFC – Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
This label ensures that the wood used to make a product has come from sustainably managed forests
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
An EPD provides third-party verified information about the life cycle environmental impacts of a product. It takes the entire lifecycle of the product into account, from the raw materials to decommissioning and disposal.
Emissions Dans L’Air Interieur
This European certification uses a grading system to score products on their contribution to indoor air health. It measures the emissions from VOCs and compares them against international recommendations and standards, and grades the product from A+ to C based on the toxicity risk it poses.
LEED
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is the US Green Building Council’s classification program for low-emission products. It’s the most widely used green building certification in the world, covering a huge range of products and services relating to construction projects.
Floorscore
FloorScore® is a voluntary, independent certification program that tests and certifies hard surface flooring and associated products for compliance with criteria adopted in California for indoor air emissions of VOCs with potential health effects.
Low VOC
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. They encompass a variety of different chemicals, some of which may have long-term adverse health effects, which is why seeking out low VOC flooring products is important.
