Laminate flooring is created with multiple layers, designed to closely replicate the look of natural timber, stone, or tiles.

Four layers make up each plank of laminate flooring.

    1. Transparent wear layer: Several layers of melamine are pressed into the HDF core under high pressure.
    2. Décor layer: This is what gives your floor an actual look. The décor is printed and finished with a melamine resin.
    3. HDF Core: The core of the flooring is made with high-density fibre and high-quality melamine resin.
    4. Balancing layer:This moisture-resistant layer also includes a melamine layer so the product is equalised.

What are the advantages of using Laminate flooring?

Laminate is a popular option for those that like the look of timber flooring but want a more affordable alternative. Laminate décors can imitate the look of natural timber very closely.

Laminate flooring is resistant to fade even in the harsh New Zealand sunlight and modern technology even provides laminate flooring with waterproof surfaces making them suitable for many different spaces within a home or office.

    How durable is Laminate flooring?

With the little maintenance laminate requires, the flooring is incredibly durable. The HDF core provides strength while the top wear layer protects against fading, scratching and wear from foot traffic.
